March of 2015 TechHire Nebraska announced their plans to train 400 applicants over the next four years.  In August 4 applicants were accepted to the inaugural Phase I class. We are excited to report that all 4 of these participants remain actively employed in various roles with Kearney tech company Xpanxion.

Earlier this year the U.S. Department of Labor announced the grant recipients of a nationwide TechHire Initiative. Unfortunately TechHire Nebraska was not awarded a portion of this money pool.   Due to this lack of funding, TechHire Nebraska will be pushing back the expected August start date of Phase II.

As we continue to build partnerships, both locally and statewide, we remain enthusiastic about the future impact this forward-thinking training program will have on our communities. While we move closer to our goals for funding and training development, we expect a Phase II kick off before the end of 2016. We will continue to provide updates as information changes and look forward to building relationships with many more of the amazing applicants we have.
